Kangana Ranaut got the National Award for the best actress for her performance in Vikas Bahl’s “Queen”. The result was announced today.
Kangana had earlier won a national award for the “Best Supporting Actress” for her performance in Madhur Bhandarkar’s “Fashion”. She had won that award in 2008. Kangana who doesnt attend bollywood award shows, said that she had no idea that she was among the nominees for the best actress in the National award race. She also added that she would accept it in person if she won.
The movie “Queen” won the best film of the year. And the movie “Court” won the best feature film.
Priyanka Chopra’s “Mary Kom”, won the Best Popular Film award for providing wholesome entertainment. Director Omung Kumar was overwhelmed with the appreciation he recieved for his first film and said that it was a dream come true for him.
Shahid Kapoor’s “Haider” won many awards including Best Choreography, Music Direction, Male playback for sukhwinder singh and for costume design.
The awards will be handed by the President, Dr. Pranab Mukherjee, on may 3.
